Engineering

Ever since I made my first pipe in 2013...

I have spent countless hours pouring over the specifications, standards, and perspectives held by the makers of high-grade artisan pipes who I respect and look up to most.  I've sought advice from those high end makers, and the most discerning collectors of hand made pipes, and I've obsessed over the minuscule in order to better understand what makes a high quality pipe.

Every Müth Pipe is designed to smoke just as beautifully as it looks. Below I describe just a few of the ways I've learned to acheive that.

The Curved Button

Each pipe has a curved button to match the natural curve of the smoker's jawline and teeth.  This extremely rare feature provides the absolute top level in smoking comfort because the round shape is evenly cradled by the smoker's bite.

The Thin Bite Zone

For maximum smoking comfort, the bite zone on each stem is at or less than 3.25mm.  It feels like there's basically nothing there!  If you've ever smoked a pipe with a bulky stem, you know this to be an extremely valuable quality.

The Internals

Every pipe is engineered and executed to exacting specifications, ensuring proper wall thickness, sufficient airflow (through not only the draft hole on the stummel, but also the airway and funneled slot in the stem), and minimal turbulence.
